Clean Development Mechanisms

Ceran generates clean energy, through a renewable source. Since the project conception and the Complex’s construction, the Company has adopted unique and innovative solutions, always aiming for the least interference possible in the environment.

Examples of this innovation are the tunnels in rock for conducting the water between the dam and the plant’s power station. The energy project allows for the use of natural gradient of the area and made the construction of smaller dams possible.

This way, the construction of the Rio das Antas Energy Complex did not require the construction of large reservoirs, limiting itself to only flooding the Antas River channel, which substantially reduced the flooded area and increased the density of average installed capacity in W/m².
